This week, we figured out what we need to do to figure out what caused the disease if it was bacteria and how to do that. We need to use petri dishes and heat them up. We practiced using petri dishes. I think this is important because we can narrow our search down if this is a virus or bacteria.

This past week

This week we started to work on a school wide problem in another district. Mr. Segan was asked to help a school figure out if they had a health problem. We had to solve it. I was working with Derek. One-third of band class was absent in the project. Friday, we had an easy quiz and I have a chance to correct my old quiz. I was out Thursday, due to a trumpet lesson.
This stuff applies to real life because, real scientists are facing the same questions.

Science Notes

In class we talked about viruses, bacteria, and parasites. We said a bunch of stuff about other classes until we got to viruses. Then we talked about non-living stuff from viruses. We were given homework to write a list of 10 living and a list of 10 non-living things. We defined life itself. A living being's species is able to reproduce on its own power, grow, move (plants have seeds), and have homeostasis (a constant condition).
I think that the science stuff could have helped a scientist in the period after they got the names but were looking for traits to share. They could also be classing a new microbe, or seeing if they accidently made life.
